Deep Down:
The product is a blend of low molecular weight reactive self-crosslinking hydrophilic resins with other minor components to control behaviour carried in a blend of biodegradable ester solvents, specifically designed to soak deeply into both basic and acidic rock (ie calcareous or siliceous stones) and cure to a firm but slightly resilient 3D solid inside the material to be stabilised.
Ideally the substrate should be dry (less than 5% moisture by weight) but, provided the material is not under hydrostatic pressure, the hydrophilic properties of the resins allows moisture levels up to 10% w/w to be tolerated depending on the physical structure and chemical composition of the material; higher levels of moisture may prevent adequate penetration and may also cause disruption and damage and possible formation of internal barriers to water migration
Overview –
a very low viscosity extremely mobile and penetrative reactive resin-based stabiliser and consolidator for soft, friable, and decaying stone and other inorganic materials
it penetrates deeply into porous or friable stone, ceramic and other tiles, and similar materials such as renders, plasters (lime and gypsum etc), concretes and most other cement based materials.
It can be used on timber but the appropriate grade of timber treatment product from the CCC Timbertect range may be more suitable.
